Shaw Racing Team
On Friday, we headed to our Home Track, I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, MN. We started 7th in the Heat and finished 3rd. Track points put us starting in the 5th spot and Pearl (name of our race car) pulled off another WIN!
We had Dave Mass pilot our other Late Model, Crate 525, and he finished 3rd with Ol’Blue!
Another great weekend for the Shaw Racing Team!
This Thursday and Saturday we are hoping to race at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, WI and head out to I-94 in Fergus Falls on Friday. We hope mother nature cooperates with us!

This past weekend we raced the Race to the Hill swing of the Advantage RV Modified tour. There were 4 races schedule on this swing, Grand Rapids Thursday, Superior on Friday, Ashland, WI on Saturday and Proctor on Sunday (canceled due to rain).
On Thursday there were 25 modifieds on hand. We started 5th in out heat and finished 3rd. This put us in the redraw and we redrew 9, the highest number. For the feature, we were able to work our way up to the 3rd place position. We had tried something different on the car this day and it worked just not as well as we had hoped it would, so we were happy with the 3rd place finish.
Friday, there were 30 modifieds in attendance. We started 3rd in our heat but battled engine issues so we ended up finishing 4th. Luckily, we found the issue, which was the ground had come loose and the timing went off. This put us in the B main which we had won. We started 14th in the feature and 4 laps into the race we were up to 8th when a caution came out and had a bad restart due to another driver putting us into the wall. we slipped back a few positions, but we were able to work our way back to 5th place.
Saturday, there were 29 modifieds. We started 1st in our heat and finished 1st. We made the redraw and finally drew a good number, 3 so we finally got a good starting position. On the start we started working on the 2nd place runner but in the process of trying to pass him for many laps, our tires got too hot causing us to fade to 4th at the halfway point. Once we got the tires to cool off a little, we ran down the 3rd place runner and passed them on the last lap. This was a race that we should have won, as the track was to our liking and the car was really good. We just wasted too much time trying to get into second and burned up our tires.
Sunday was canceled due to mother nature.
This upcoming weekend we are taking off and going to the Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway to give us a break after out busy last couple of weeks. We will be back at it the following weekend for the King of Dirt, where we are the 2-time defending champion, at I94 Speedway on Friday. Then we are back at it with the Mod tour at Rice Lake, WI on Saturday and Jim Falls, WI on Sunday.
