Trailer Welding & Repair FAQS

How much does welding a rig cost?

The cost of welding repairs to a trailer can fluctuate considerably with the local market and the details and specifics of the repair job. The material cost to weld a hinge on, for example, is often relatively low but there is usually an hourly welding rate or minimum charge that the welder will require to come out and do the repair. Welding rates at repair shops are generally lower since the welder doesn’t have to worry about travel expenses or overhead. With material expenses of around $15 per hinge and hourly rates of between $70 and $150, you can expect to pay between $100 and $175 to get your rig welded.
